In order to continue on our growth path, we are currently recruiting for the position of Head of Engineering based at our Utrecht office.


What will you be doing? 

  • Leading our R&D team and grow it to 60 and further to 100+ engineers;
  • Building the most powerful platform for progressive enterprise architecture on the globe;
  • Implementation of the vision and the strategy mapped out by the CPTO;
  • Staying on top of trends and cutting-edge tech for the business in a collaborative effort with the CPTO;
  • You are responsible for managing manpower, connecting tech resources, and skills development;
  • You are responsible for our product teams and product implementation process from start to finish;
  • Make the R&D team your people and bring the best out of your people!

Our tech team

You will head our engineering functions – developers, QA and DevOPs in an agile organisation holding cross functional scrum teams ( consisting of Frontend and Backend Developers, QA, UX Designers, Technical writers, Scrum Master, Product Owners and data scientists ). Our teams are international, located across the Netherlands and Romania. Although we are growing, we're still small enough that anyone joining our team can make a real difference. Besides working on daily tasks, you will also have regular sessions with your peers where you can discuss and share knowledge on ways to implement functionalities or solve issues.

We love working Agile and hope you do too. It is important to us that every member of the team does most of what they love, thus being able to contribute greatly to our solution, team, and company.

Job requirements

What do you bring?

  • You are an empathetic people manager, master of change management and can prove excellent communication & influencing skills;
  • Experience as a software engineer;
  • 8+ years of experience in leading and growing teams of 60+ engineers;
  • You have scaled up successfully at least a team of engineers from 20 to 100;
  • Experience in startups and scale-ups; you have gone through the journey from start-up to scale-up;
  • Proven record of working with the Agile methodology (from implementation phase);
  • The ability to scan the fit for future of a team, shaping their next steps in terms of growth & learning;
  • A growth mindset and a strong focus on measuring & celebrating success;
  • A Masters or Bachelor Degree
