Are you looking to proactively maintain and assure stability (confidentiality, integrity, availability, disaster recovery and continuity), performance and cost efficiency? Then this job might be for you, keep reading to learn more about working at ValueBlue in our office in Utrecht.

Sounds interesting, tell me more

ValueBlue is the innovative and highly driven organization behind BlueDolphin, the best software for Enterprise Architecture. Our mission is to enable organizations to achieve goals faster, together and based on insights. We achieve this by providing a SaaS platform that companies use to achieve strategic goals such as digital transformations in areas of business, IT, and data. Companies such as Disney, Randstad, Wakefern corp., Boskalis, the ANWB, Erasmus University, VolkerWessels and many hospitals and municipalities in the Netherlands and the US. But, in order for us to keep delivering the best possible product to our customers, we need to rely on a top notch infrastructure.

What about the team?

You will work with a nice mix of QA's, front end and back end developers from more than 7 different nationalities, located in both the Netherlands and Romania. We love working in an agile way (scrum/kanban) and hope you do too. At this moment we have one other platform engineer, but our plan for the near future is to scale up our engineering team and to get ready for running our scalable platform in multiple geo locations.

Do you love Cloud Infra?

It is important to us that every colleague does what they love to do every day. We believe this is the best way for everyone to have a great and positive contribution to our solution, the team and the company. We strive for a combination of constant learning and fun and offer an environment where people can work independently and communicate openly. As an international scale up company, we love the changes and challenges that happen every day. We are looking for like-minded colleagues who are up to date with the latest (azure) techniques (flexible and scalable infra, infra as code, concurrency issues, big data processing technologies) and who understand that the performance and user experience of our platform are the result of great collaboration across functional borders.

What would I do as a Senior Cloud Engineer?

You will be our go-to person for (Automated) monitoring uptime, performance, and preventing issues for the BlueDolphin infrastructure. You make sure to take immediate action on the environment when security or performance issues occur. You know how to design, plan, automate, document and execute changes to the BlueDolphin infrastructure and our DevOps pipeline in coordination with the DevOps team (your colleagues). In addition, you make sure to monitor our infrastructure, preferably by creating intelligent alerts and monitoring rules. When our customers have issues caused by the BlueDolphin infrastructure, you help to resolve them. But you are always looking to improve and innovate by doing research on technology innovations and improvements that help make our platform more robust and future ready.

Does this sound like you?
I know how to manage my work in an agile environment and collaborate with people from other expertises. I understand that everything we do should be done with our customer in mind. I am a professional and take ownership of my results. I care about delivering high quality work. Building complex new setups, quickly changing or rebuilding outdated ones? That’s exactly what I’ve been doing in my previous job. When I have a great idea, I share it with my team, because I want us to continuously improve. I also support my colleagues when they need help, because I believe that the best results are achieved together with a great team. I basically just love IT, so I try to keep up to date on new technologies and innovations.
